You can watch the overview trailer below. Modestly priced at $14.99, Kirby’s Dream Buffet is only a week away, set to come out on August 17. Along with new gameplay footage, the video highlights some of the copy abilities Kirby can use in the different game modes, and dives into the Rewards Menu, where players can unlock cosmetics and other customization options by spending the strawberries that they earn in each match. Kirby’s Dream Buffet was originally shown off last month, but the overview trailer released today provides a lot of new details. But, unlike Fall Guys, where 60 players face off, Dream Buffet is limited to 4 players. Releasing just 4 months after Kirby and the Forgotten Land, Kirby’s Dream Buffet lets players compete against each other across three game types: races, minigames, and a “battle royale.” It clearly takes a lot of inspiration from the Epic’s multiplayer hit Fall Guys, which isn’t uncommon for Kirby some of the series’ earliest spinoff titles on the Game Boy were clones of Brick Breaker and Puyo Puyo. More information can be found on the Nintendo store website.Kirby has had more spinoff titles than any Nintendo character apart from Mario, and developer HAL Laboratory is back again with yet another new on the pink pufffball. It’s an eShop and download exclusive, so it’ll probably be a smaller game. There are no price details available for Kirby’s Dream Buffet, nor is there an exact release date beyond Summer 2022. This new Kirby game comes as a surprise, since Kirby and the Forgotten Land came out earlier this year. Both local and online multiplayer will be available. The game is designed to be approachable for all-ages, yet offer enough challenge for more hardcore Kirby fans.
And because this is Kirby, there are also some copy abilities - in this case, food-related ones - to add some extra pizzazz. Players will roll through various food-themed levels, consuming strawberries to grow larger and bump away the competition. Then, turn the tides in the final rounda fruity fight atop a floating platform. It’s a bit of a racing game, and a bit of an obstacle course. Race through delicious obstacle courses to collect strawberries as Kirby grows. In Kirby’s Dream Buffet, all these beautiful dreams become reality. And what’s even better than that? MULTIPLE KIRBYS.
